Red Rock District Moves to Beaver Creek!

After 83 years of operation out of the Ranger Station on Brewer Road in the heart of Sedona, we have temporarily relocated our administrative office to the old Beaver Creek Ranger Station on Forest Road 618.  In 2001, the Beaver Creek Ranger District was combined with the Sedona Ranger District to form the current Photo: sign at the old Beaver Creek Ranger StationRed Rock Ranger District and has since operated out of the Brewer Road complex.  Following the merge, the Beaver Creek Station has been utilized as a work center for events, employee housing and a workshop.  The historic Beaver Creek buildings and compound date back to 1935 when the National Conservation Corp Crews set up camp and built the existing buildings.  The Beaver Creek compound itself was acquired in 1905 when the Forest Service agency was created.

If you would like to learn more about the Forest Service and its local history or just need to reach one of us, please stop in and visit.  In the short term, don’t be surprised if we are still unpacking and appear somewhat unsettled.  A temporary modular building is now located at the Beaver Creek work center to provide interim office space for employees until the new Woods Canyon facility is complete. The new Wood’s Canyon administrative site is being constructed along Highway 179 south of the Village of Oak Creek and is expected to be complete sometime in 2008.  Our South Gateway Visitor Center is still open in the Village for visitor information services.

If you need to reach any of our administrative staff, please call our same number at (928) 282-4119.  We can also be reached by mail at P.O. Box 20429, Sedona AZ  86341 or electronically at "Contact Us"
